Constipation

Constipation is common during pregnancy because of the action of hormones which decrease the motility of the gut and, later on, because the expanding uterus puts pressure on the bowel. There is a lot however that you can do to prevent constipation during pregnancy, if this is kept under control then you are less likely to suffer from hemorrhoids. There is greater risk of hemorrhoids during pregnancy because of the increased volume of blood and the weakening of muscle tone.
