Originally from upstate New York, Melissa recently moved to New Zealand to expand her career in midwifery and naturopathy. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and two years of biochemical research, Melissa followed her true passion and pursued a career in wholistic medicine at Bastyr Universtiy, in Seattle, Washington. Bastyr is one of a few universities that educate future physicians in the medical sciences and art of natural healing. During her studies, Melissa developed a strong interest in natural childbirth. Melissa received a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in 2001 and Naturopathic Midwifery Certificate in 2002. This dual education allows her to provide complete family care. Melissa specializes in women’s health, pregnancy, natural childbirth, pediatrics, constitutional homeopathy and cranio-sacral therapy. She also teaches antenatal classes and tutors at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies.
